Polite staff, great breakfast, good bar/restaurant.

Room was a little small - air conditioning was a little ineffective.

This is a really good hotel in the centre of Reading. It is modern and offers free movies and a very comfortable room. You also get a discounted parking rate at the near by car park of £2.00 which is great value. If you can get a good deal well worth staying here

The only negative is the drinks which are quite expensive but they are always served with a smile

Contemporary design and cleanliness of the room. Excellent wet-room style shower.

      The restaurant was overpriced.

The staff were very obliging. We had a couple of complaints which were dealt with courteously and efficiently.

We thought this was probably a younger persons' hotel. Clearly the rooms are built for style, especially the wetroom bathroom, but we found them rather alienating, and we didn't like not being able to open he window at the front. We chose not to have breakfast because it was £15 per person extra, and Pret was close and much cheaper.

      Friendly staff

Noise from the road More staff required on reception and at the bar

Nice decor and ambience. Cool bar, nice staff. Very comfy bed! Good deal with Booked.net so seemed really good deal

Expensive breakfast (£15) meant we didn't bother with it! Bar prices a little steep. Location not great and although gave discounted ticket for parking, location of car park a little out of way when you have heavy luggage and would rather not pay. Also paying for wifi in this day and age is daft

Would stay at this hotel again, the staff were very professional and friendly, The rooms were spotless and beds realy comfortable.

The rooms were a bit hot the aircon blew out warm air, didnt complain just opened the window

Was surprised at the quality, this place as been refurbished to a very good standard. Food and ambience value for money. Location ideal, would stay here and travel into London if I wanted to go site seeing.

My partner and myself enjoyed our weekedn stay here as the staff were friendly and we both would stay here again.

Fantastic location, fantastic rooms and an even better price. I cannot rate this place highly enough, just as good as any Hilton I have stayed in and a fraction of the price. As we checked out on a Sunday we had free late checkout at 1500. It's right in the city centre, has the biggest beds I have ever seen and there are free movies/sky sports in room on the basic package. I will use again.

Went here for a last minute 2 night break with my boyfriend to escape our hectic lives.Bargain only paid £62 for 2 nights. Room and hotel were just as in the pictures, staff were very friendly and helpful overall atmosphere was great. Didnt eat there so cant comment on food. No onsite parking but you get a discount with the car park across the road so we dropped off bags first then parked up worked out £10 for 24 hours so not to bad

The late check out on Sunday morning after a late function.

Had to ask for iron, which took a while to arrive. No safe.

      Comfortable bed and duvet

I'm afraid I can't recommend this at all. It's difficult to find. Parking is in a multi-storey 5 mins walk away and it is not the best end of town (not great if you have bags, are alone, etc.). In reality this is a budget hotel, dressed up to look like something special. The Laurel and Hardy flim screened on the wall as you walk in the lobby gives a nice atmophere and a funky impression. However, the rooms are small, basic and have been dressed by an interior designer who doesn't understand hotels - the materials used aren't robust enough and so the furniture and fittings in my room were covered in unslightly chipps. Worse, the room was very poorly cleaned - sweet wrappers under chairs when pulled out, etc.) and the heating did not work at all. I ended up having a hot shower (no bath) just to keep warm and then diving under the duvet. When I mentioned it the next morning (too late that night to be bothered) I received a "sorry, I'll tell the manager/housekeeping". I'm afraid if a hotel can't get the basics of a warm, clean, room with good service right, then the rest just comes over as pretentious nonsense.
